Willoughby Road Shops on the Riddings Estate. Built in the late 1950s the complex was bought from the council by the Lincoln Co-oprative Society and renovated in 2004. Taken 24/1/2006
Doncaster Road. Up until the early 1920s this road was known as Clayfield Road and ran from Brittania Corner to where the Royal Hotel stands today, from there and down the hill it was known as Occupation Lane.                                         Taken 24/1/2006

Part of Scunthorpe bus station. Also Charlton Street multistory car park, the footbridge to the Leisure Centre and St. Johns church tower can be seen.

Awaiting the bulldozer 7-12-2007, this terrace on West Street bares the names Beech Cottage, Fern Cottage & Ivy Cottage. A particular sad sight for me as my maternal grandfather once lived at the second house (No77 baring the Beech Cottage name) and I recall many a Saturday evening whilst visiting him playing up & down the Tenfoot at the rear.

Normanby Grange under construction 17/1/2007. It is been built on the former allotment site off Normanby Road. The site itself was once an open cast Iron Ore mine with the over burden been removed and used as backfill when the Iron Ore layer was removed. This explains why the site is at a lower level than the surrounding area.

12/9/2007 Construction continues apace at Ashby Ville.
The Britainia Public House Built c.1905 & extended in 1932 gives its name to this juction. It is interesting to note that one of the signs on the Britania reads 'High Street' whereas infact that particular facade is on Frodingham Road.
The Light night spot. This building started life on 4th Aril 1912 as the Congregational Church and was built at a cost of £3,040.
Scunthorpe Youth Centre under demolition, December 2007. It was opened in 1939, the same year as Scunthorpe was connected to the national grid.
A view from Rowland Road looking towards Crosby flats. These along with the surrounding maisonettes were open in 1966. Also St Johns Church tower can be seen. The bridge over the railway on Brigg Road was opened on 28th June 1928, it was replaced in the early 1980s by the structure we see today. a level crossing pre-dates them both.
A view along Cole Street, TJ Hughes Department Store today stands where The Higher Elementry School (Brown School) once stood. The school opened on 30th August 1909 and latterly became an annex of North Lindsey Collage. It was demolished in 1995.

The Priory Hotel opened in 1953 by Tennant Brewers Ltd and was one of the smallest in Scunthorpe. Work to extend it started in 1955 and was complete by the begining of 1958 which saw the public bar enlarged and the addition of two other bars and a ballroom which could hold 290 patrons. The alterations cost £200,000, the main contrator being Quibell & Hardy Ltd of Scunthorpe.
St. Cathrines church in Ancholme Road, Ashby. The foundation stone was layed in 1955. It currently awaits the bulldozer.
